Bori Mályi is a Rotterdam-based musician whose work is deeply rooted in Hungarian folk traditions and shaped by a fascination with the musical cultures of Turkey, Greece and the Balkans. Through voice, bağlama and lavta, she explores the rich connections between these traditions, tracing shared histories, melodies and stories that transcend cultural borders.
Driven by a curiosity for the encounters between different musical worlds, Bori approaches traditional music as a living and evolving language. Her work celebrates intercultural exchange and explores the new perspectives and sounds that emerge when traditions meet.
She performs with several musical projects at festivals, theatres and concert venues across the Netherlands, Belgium and beyond.
