On Sunday, September 27, Maryana Golovchenko and an international choir will present a special program of Ukrainian women’s songs during the Weergaloos Charlois festival in Rotterdam-Zuid. Rooted deeply in Ukrainian tradition, these songs tell about hope, resilience and connecting with nature. Admission is free.
After the performance, Maryana will invite the audience to join in. During a short and accessible workshop, you’ll get a taste of Ukrainian singing culture and learn a song yourself. No singing experience is needed — everyone is welcome to join!

A Whole Weekend of Weergaloos Charlois
From September 25 to 27, Karel de Stouteplein will come alive with music, dance, circus theatre, workshops, delicious food, and unexpected encounters. Highlights include a Cape Verdean celebration, Charlois Flows, Tango Sunday, a neighbourhood brunch, and, of course, Ukrainian singing led by Maryana Golovchenko.
Weergaloos Charlois is a festival organized by Rotterdams Volkstheater. This programme is presented by Ukrainian House Rotterdam, VATAHA, and Culture Connection.
