Unforgettable Women’s Voices concert in Delfshaven

On October 16, 2026, a fantastic Women’s Voices concert took place at the Pelgrimvaderskerk in Delfshaven. Singer Maryana Golovchenko performed with cellist Pau Sola and a brand-new women’s choir. With centuries-old Ukrainian women’s songs, they deeply moved the audience. It was an unforgettable evening.

Songs of hope and a new beginning

Maryana Golovchenko presented a varied program of spring songs—deeply rooted in Ukrainian tradition. The songs symbolize hope, vitality, and a new beginning. They speak of coming together and singing together, of welcoming light and warmth after a long and dark winter. Pau Sola’s expressive cello playing beautifully complemented Maryana’s singing and added extra depth and color to the music.

From workshops to choir

Prior to the concert, Maryana led singing workshops at Codarts Global Musics and the Ukrainian House Rotterdam. This gave rise to an international choir, featuring many singers with Ukrainian roots. During the concert, the women joined Maryana in performing several songs. Voices came together from different corners of the church, creating an unforgettable and magical experience.

More than just music

Before and after the concert, visitors could enjoy Ukrainian delicacies, carefully prepared by the Ukrainian House Rotterdam. There were also booths featuring jewelry, art, and exquisite embroidery from Crafted Treasures and Pokusa Jewelry.
